Metate Arch in Devil's Garden, Grand Staircase, Escalente, Utah is a thin caprock natural arch. The sandstone formations in Devils Garden were shaped by the weathering and erosional processes that has been taking place for more than 160 million years ago having first been formed during the Jurassic period. In this image, the arch seems to be protecting the lone tree below. This image was taken with a Canon 5D, MK IV using a Canon 24-70mm lens set at 24mm for 1/200 of a second at f8 with ISO 100.
