Fisher Tower
Within the Canyonlands, you will find the Fisher Towers, a group of unusual vertical cliffs and pinnacles, which are eroded into jagged shapes on the top and grooved down the sides. The largest of the Fisher Towers is near Moab, Utah. The Titan Tower which is composed of Cutler sandstone is the largest freestanding tower in the United States. This is an amazing area of some of the tallest freestanding towers in North America. As I exited my vehicle, I stood transfixed at the majestic beauty of the Towers---even from the parking lot, the Titan Tower is an amazing view. I could hardly wait to set up my tripod and camera. Many shots later I was rewarded with the grandeur of brilliant blue skies dotted with converging clouds which highlighted the beautiful sandstone striations of Titan Tower. The color of the sandstone against the blue of the sky gives this image a three-dimensional look. This image was taken with a Canon 5D, MK IV using a Canon 24-70mm lens set at 70mm for 1/800 of a second and f8 with an ISO setting of 200.
